This quiz is a general guide. Each situation is unique, and unemployment insurance experts review each claim we receive to determine eligibility.

    1. If you file your initial claim in January, February or March 2023, your base year is October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022.
    2. If you file your initial claim in April, May or June 2023, your base year is January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022.

  2. Did you work in Oregon at someone else’s company sometime in the past 18 months?
  3. Are you able to work? “Able to work” means you are mentally and physically able to work.
  4. Are you available for work? “Available for work” means you are able to work without restrictions that would prevent you from accepting work (for example: you are not prevented from working because of transportation issues, illness, vacations, or lack of childcare).
  5. Were you laid off, or were your work hours cut back?
  6. Were you discharged from the military in the last 18 months and either are living in Oregon or are regularly working or looking for work in Oregon?
  7. Do none of the statements below apply to you? (If none apply, your answer is "Yes.")
    1. I was fired and it was my fault.
    2. I am on strike from my employer.
    3. I am on a leave of absence from my job.
    4. I am still working full time.
